Our Story

Three people standing on a lawn holding Brazilian musical instruments.

We created Ginga to bring joy, movement, culture and connection to people of all abilities.

Bruna Rebouças, a Physical Education teacher from Brazil, started Ginga to make martial arts, music and culture accessible to people of all ages and abilities. With the support of her husband, Daniel Carvalho, and Capoeira Coordinator Siobhann McCafferty (Madeira), they began delivering inclusive Capoeira programs for people with disabilities in 2023. They’ve been sharing this beautiful and rewarding work ever since.
